Working with disadvantaged and socially excluded people, in particular those that are homeless or at risk of losing their homes. A small but dedicated team help some of the most vulnerable people within the local community. Next Steps supports rough sleepers, sofa surfers and people at risk of becoming homeless. Community Advice Service is delivered in partnership with York Foodbank, advice worker attend Foodbank sessions to offer additional support to people relying on food provision. Financial Capability Coaches available through My Money, My Life one-to-one sessions to give money guidance and debt advice
Salvation Army Early Intervention and Prevention Team
Crisis intervention service. Conducts early morning street walks to identify rough sleepers and offer support to access accommodation, and can arrange access to emergency accommodation, longer term accommodation, food and showers. Signposts people to further support services including drug and alcohol, mental health and accessing private rented accommodation
